Universal health care touches one of the deepest nerves running through public policy on state, national and international levels. In recent years, New Jersey has staged significant activity in this area, sparked by an engaged citizenry and proactive advocates in the various administrations, the legislature and the private sector. In addition, the 2008 presidential election has shined a spotlight on America’s inadequacies regarding the provision of health care, which has sparked increased consideration of models from around the world.
