Peter R Orszag, Senior Fellow of Economic Studies, The Brookings Institution, is an expert in budget policy and politics, which encompasses education policy, Homeland security, pension policy, Social Security, and tax policy.
He is the author of Saving Social Security: A Balanced Approach, which he co-wrote with Peter A. Diamond, professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In it, the authors provide a historical perspective of the Social Security program and a chronology of its financial deterioration. The two go on to outline alternatives for reform that would salvage the program.
